Tabby / Tabular Quartz Crystal

A Tabby / Tabular quartz crystal is a thin, flat crystal with all six sides intact. They are just like the crystal points we are familiar with except they have grown in a ‘squished flat’ shape.

To ‘qualify’ as a Tabby, they should be no more than half as thin as they are wide (2 to 1 ratio). For example, if a crystal is one inch wide it needs to be no more than one-half inch thick (it can be less) in order to be called a Tabby.

Tabby / Tabular quartz crystals are good helpers with communication. I remember this because they are shaped like a tablet.
