Physical description: Record Keepers (also called Recorders) are crystals that have triangular markings on the faces. They seem to be three-dimensional, but they usually can’t be felt with your finger. You have to hold a crystal at just the right angle in order to see the Record Keeper (see instructions below). Usually they are very sharply edged, equilateral triangles (I call these "traditional"); however, I have seen them with rounded bottoms (more arrowhead or even tear-drop shaped) as well, (I call these "non-traditional"). There may only be one present on a face, or you may find layers and layers of them. Record Keepers will appear and disappear (I call that “popping”). It is said that a Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains.

Metaphysical description: Record Keepers contain special wisdom. They represent storage devices and the information is accessed via a portal (through the Record Keeper marking). I love Record Keepers, they have a special energy.

HOW TO SEE YOUR RECORD KEEPER (or other surface feature)

To view the surface (to keep from looking inside of the crystal), hold your crystal parallel to a light source so that you can use the glare that the light creates in order to see what is on the surface. Let me illustrate this for you.

Imagine a very clear lake. If the sun isn't shining off the surface, then you see right down into the lake and you can see rocks and fish and weeds, right? But when the glare of the sun is on the water, you can see things floating on the surface like dust, bugs, or even ripples that you wouldn't have been able to see without the sun's glare. The same is true for surface features on a crystal.

The best way to do this (and you will do it for each face) is to find your best light source, the sun if you are outside or a bright light or lamp if you are inside. Then, starting with the main face, work your way around the crystal by tipping it until you can see the surface features in the light's glare.

There may be Etching, Record Keepers or scratches; sometimes, there are no markings at all. Be patient. Sometimes it take a little bit of trial and error to get just the right angle.

*The size of these crystals will vary. I will send the most representative example of the type of configuration ordered, so if a crystal is small, but an excellent example of the particular configuration, I will send that crystal. If it is particularly small, I may send two in one bag (say 1/2 inch or so)… I aim for a size range from 1 to 2 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter.

Your Record Keeper crystal will come with a business-card-sized printed description of the characteristics and special qualities of the crystal within. Crystal sizes may vary greatly in size as I am selecting for the shape, not the size.

It isn’t necessarily sent for its size, and sometimes may be Empathic (chipped, dinged or damaged), if it is an excellent representation of this type (for example, it might present as a very good Manifestation point in an Empathic (chipped and/or damaged) chunk).
