This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Masculine with lots of Fairy Frost. It is a Transmitter (7-3-7) and has geometric Sigils on the faces. Lots of interesting ones, need to use the glare of the light to see them (I wasn’t able to capture them well in the photos). There is a whitish Inclusion of *something* in the very tip of the termination. There are lots of Barnacles (old soul energy) and some Bridges and Inner Child points (connection and perspective). The sides are Lineated. The base is in the very beginning stages of Self-Healing and there is a partial facet there showing that this crystal was once Double Terminated. This damage must have happened late in the growth phase. The out and back energy of Double Terms will still apply to this crystal even though there isn’t a complete termination since this is how it grew.

Energetically, this crystal is subtle and unassuming. The Barnacles enhance the old soul energy it brings and the Transmitter brings the unexpected and special energy of basically a ‘double’ Channeler. I like it!

TRANSMITTER - A Transmitter is two Channeler faces side by side with a triangle in between (seven-three-seven). The main ‘face’ or front is actually the ‘three’ between the two seven-sided faces. The two seven-sided faces will be close to the same size. When one of the two faces is much larger than the other, I call these Transmitter crystals with a Channeler orientation. Transmitters work much like Channelers, only double! They help you access higher wisdom, either in the form of your Higher Self or Spirit Guides or even Angels. Transmitters have a proud, almost mysterious, feel. I picture them as two sentinels standing not quite side-to-side and not quite back-to-back. I like them because their main face is between two diagonals. What do I mean by this? Imagine standing in front of a triangularly shaped building that has its entrance on the corner where the two sidewalks meet. It is unexpected and special.

MASCULINE - Very clear points are described as Masculine (referring to physical features and possibly energy, not necessarily gender). They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes.

FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost consists of fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal (found inside, not like “frost on a pumpkin”). The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost but some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

SIGILS - Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. (For example, "$" is a sigil that represents money and abundance, a heart represents love, etc.) Surface features which may be etched (tactile) or appear similar to a Record Keeper (seen in the glare of a light but not easily felt). Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. Let your mind’s eye wander and see if they take on a life of their own like a video in your mind’s eye, (or if they bring up a thought or feeling). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.

TO VIEW SURFACE FEATURES - To view the surface of the crystal (versus looking inside), hold your crystal parallel to a light source so that you can use the glare that the light creates in order to see what is on the surface. To illustrate: Imagine a very clear lake. If the sun isn't shining off the surface, then you see right down into the lake and you can see rocks and fish and weeds. When the glare of the sun is on the water, you can see things floating on the surface like dust, bugs, or even ripples that you wouldn't have been able to see without the sun's glare. The same is true for surface features on a crystal. The best way to do this (and you will do it for each face) is to find your best light source, the sun if you are outside or a bright light or lamp if you are inside. Then, starting with the main face, work your way around the crystal by tipping it until you can see the surface features in the light's glare. There may be Etching, Record Keepers, Sigils or scratches; sometimes, there are no markings at all. Be patient. Sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error to get just the right angle.

INCLUDED - Inclusions in crystals occur when crystal is forming, and other substances are present in the solution. These substances might be air bubbles or other minerals but when speaking about Included crystals we are usually referring to other minerals. These minerals become trapped (or included) within the crystal point during its growth and are therefore called Inclusions. Air and moisture inclusions fall into the category of Fairy Frost, a non-mineral inclusion. The properties of Included crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. The properties of the included mineral will be enhanced and amplified by being trapped within the structure of quartz.

BARNACLES - Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Crystals with Barnacles emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). They are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father would be (like the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. The energetic description of a crystal with Barnacles is pertaining to the energy of the larger crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles rather than the energy of the Barnacles themselves.

BRIDGE - A Bridge is a smaller crystal penetrating a larger crystal. They help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your Inner and Outer Selves or between yourself and others) and are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self) and are also good for connection and perspective. Just like a physical bridge, they can rise you above the muck (or a difficult crossing), while providing a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries.

INNER CHILD - An Inner Child (a type of Bridge) is a smaller crystal penetrating a larger crystal. I see Inner Child crystals as smaller and penetrating more ‘in’ than ‘out’. They have a feeling to me of going ‘within’ (thereby helping to bridge the gap between your outer self and your inner self).

DOUBLE TERMINATED - Double Terminated crystals have a termination on both ends. These crystals grow from a ‘seed’ molecule of silicon dioxide in clay and grow outward in both directions. They are not formed on a matrix. The energy in these crystals flows in both directions as well. Even though they have two terminations, oftentimes there is usually one end that feels like the ‘top’ and one that feels like the ‘bottom’. Double Terminated points promote psychic ability and dream recall (because they send as well as receive) and are also used for balance. They are useful in any application in which you want the energy to flow in both directions. Because the energy flows in both directions, I like using them in healing layouts or grids and for communication with guides/others.

LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.
