This is a Feminine Arkansas quartz crystal point. It has Etching and Sigils, the Sigil meaning will depend on if they speak to you (remind you of anything). They look to me like cityscapes on the faces (when you turn the crystal upside down), very interesting. You view these surface features like you do Record Keepers. There is some Etching on the sides as well. There are Imprints and some Growth Interference and Lineated Sides. There are Rainbows just inside the tip. Lovely.
FEMININE - Feminine crystals are dense and milky. The concentration of density in a Feminine crystal varies from nearly opaque fairy frost to solid white, milky quartz. Sometimes a crystal with some clarity (which typically is described as masculine) will still emit a feminine energy. Feminine crystals help us (both men and women) to get in touch with our feminine nature. They have a soft, yet deep, mysterious energy. Yin in nature, Feminine crystals are intuitive, nurturing and receptive.
ETCHED - Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. I’ve seen them called Lightning Strike Quartz, as well. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to Sacred Sigil crystals). You frequently find etching on Gas Phantoms.
SIGILS - Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sacred Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you.
IMPRINT - Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints show how something is affected by outside influences. The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining its basic inherent truth and beauty.
GROWTH INTERFERENCE - Growth Interference crystals have missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it looks like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. There used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, so they sort of look magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation (or person), and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark.
LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point. Lineated Sides can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. If you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information or feel a desire to go deeper, you can unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. I experience this as receiving a deeper knowing or understanding that seems to be released quietly after they are unzipped. If you drag your thumbnail down the side of a point with deep striations, you are “unzipping” the crystal. To zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. This is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are “done for now” and you can pick up where you left off later. I used to think that unzipping would be like opening a box and looking inside, revealing a few more items, and once you see them, that is all. It isn’t quite like this though. It is more like opening the box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of “extra” you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion that has infinite layers. Just remember when you finish with your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.
RAINBOWS - Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. Sometimes Rainbows appear on the surface between two closely connected (fused) crystals. Metaphorically, this can represent how a relationship with a closely-attached-other can bring us Rainbows. Often the fusing of the two crystals produces a surface on which Rainbows like to ride. The relationship with the closely-attached-other creates a Rainbow to be explored and honored while the two are connected.
