This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a super water clear (Masculine) Dow with a Channeler orientation (One of the 3 seven-sided face is more prominent than the other.) Nicely balanced Transmitter orientation from the other side. (Dows are known also as Trans-Channelers because they are both Transmitters and Channelers, considered a Master configuration). It is Empathic with some contact dings and Lineated Sides. Very bright, clear, yang energy.

MASCULINE - Very clear points are described as Masculine. They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes. The term Masculine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being very clear and typically refers to the energetic qualities (masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.) Just like with humans, however, many Masculine crystals do have masculine energy (referring to gender), but some have feminine energy. DOW (also called TRANS-CHANNELER)- This is an example of a crystal with two names for the same configuration. Called both Dow (named after Janeann Dow) as well as Trans-Channeler (because these crystals are both Channelers and Transmitters in configuration), it is more commonly referred to as Dow. Dow crystals have three seven-sided faces with a triangular face between each of them. The sides of the six faces will look like 7-3-7-3-7-3. A perfect Dow or Trans-Channeler will have symmetrically-sized faces and a centrally located point. Some will be uneven in symmetry but the count will be correct. If the Transmitter configuration is more prominent (2 large 7's and one small 7), I call it a Dow with a Transmitter orientation. If one 7 is larger or more prominent than the other two 7's, I call it is Dow with a Channeler orientation. When the faces are symmetrical (textbook Dow), the Channeler and the Transmitter qualities are equally merged. Dow crystals provide a connection with the Self and Universal Truth. Transmitters help you access higher wisdom, (your Higher Self or Spirit Guides or even Angels) and Channelers assist in bringing through the information from same. CHANNELER - In order to determine if your crystal is a Channeler or Channeling crystal, you must count the edges of the faces. If it is a Channeler, the main face will have seven edges. Directly behind that seven-sided face, there will be a three-sided face (triangle). This configuration is described as a seven-three. Channelers or Channeling crystals help you access higher wisdom, either in the form of your Higher Self or Spirit Guides, or of Angels. To me, these crystals exude a crisp, regal energy. TRANSMITTER - Basically, a Transmitter is two Channeler faces side by side with a triangle in between (seven-three-seven). The main ‘face’ or front is actually the ‘three’ between the two seven-sided faces. The two seven-sided faces will be close to the same size. When one of the two faces is much larger than the other, I call these Transmitter crystals with a Channeler orientation. Transmitters work much like Channelers, only double! They help you access higher wisdom, either in the form of your Higher Self or Spirit Guides or even Angels. Transmitters have a proud, almost mysterious, feel. I picture them as two sentinels standing not quite side-to-side and not quite back-to-back. I like them because their main face is between two diagonals. What do I mean by this? Imagine standing in front of a triangularly shaped building that has its entrance on the corner where the two sidewalks meet. It is unexpected and special. EMPATHIC - Broken, chipped and otherwise damaged crystals are called Empathic. Empathic crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy. LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.
