My Crystal Guide, Venus
Recently I was asked how I came to know my Crystal Guide, Venus. It was a great question. After being asked, I realized I have never addressed how we met. This a great time to pop in and explain who Crystal Guide Venus is, how I came to know her and how our relationship has blossomed over the years.
Sit back and enjoy what will be a trip down memory lane for me, and hopefully an opportunity for you to connect to your own personal relationship with the Crystal People.
CAN ANYONE COMMUNICATE WITH CRYSTAL?
I believe that channeling is simply a more focused form of communication. Everyone might not be able to channel right out of the gate, but certainly everyone has the ability to communicate.
When I finally realized I was connecting to Crystalline Consciousness, it’s important to point out that channeling wasn’t a skill I had honed (or even knew was possible for me).
I say this to show that I believe it is something everyone can do, not because I am ‘special’ in any way.
A caveat to this is that I did have some previous experiences in my youth with discovering the ability to tap into and hear non-physical beings from the other side. However, this wasn’t something I welcomed or encouraged. (As a matter of fact, it was something I intentionally blocked due to fear.)
At the very least, everyone has the ability to listen, right now. You might not have yet honed the ability to #1 know when you are receiving messages from “other” versus “self” and #2 discern when it is your own “voice” versus coming from outside of you. Meaning I believe you are probably getting messages/communicating whether you are aware (and call it that) or not.
Communicating with the Crystal People is possible. Simply be aware of your yourself in the moment you are wanting to communicate. Before starting, take note of your baseline. This way you will know when communication starts by being aware of when something changes – the details are here, I call it the “check In”.
WHAT DID I KNOW ABOUT CRYSTALS INITIALLY?
I have told the story before that when I first started working with crystals, I knew NOTHING about them.
Quite literally, nothing. What I knew was that I loved them and that I felt better being in their presence.
Because I felt better in their presence when crystal mining (I was undergoing treatment for cancer), I didn’t want to stop digging.
However, I had amassed so many crystals (with no desire to stop) my dad suggested I start a website (1995) in order to share the crystals I was finding. Because I knew nothing about crystals, in order to create a website, I consulted books.

CHANNELING VENUS - WHERE DID IT START FOR ME?
The next obvious question, then, is how did I start channeling Crystal Guide Venus? Actually, being officially introduced to Venus came much later.
Initially, (again, 28/29 years ago) when describing crystals for my website, I came at it from a purely physical perspective. The dimensions, weight and surface features. The number of sides, faces and angles.
I was simply listing whatever tangible reference in the crystal that I could find back-up for in a book. I never knew to even consider that crystals were sentient and capable of conversation.
After physically holding and measuring the characteristics of literally hundreds and hundreds of crystals, I began to notice that I was getting sensory impressions from them as well.
After a time of becoming aware of the energetic differences, I also started getting spoken information. At first, the voice I heard came through with a heavy (Spanish?) accent. I think this was done so that I would realize that what I was receiving wasn’t coming from “me”.
Sometimes I felt an overwhelming sense of joy or a silly laughter bubbling up within me. I would receive stories and see pictures (like a movie in my mind).
That is when I realized that the crystals were speaking to me and that crystals are sentient beings! I don’t think this is something that I would have realized if I had only interacted with a few crystals. This developed over years of repetition and interacting with hundreds (ok…probably thousands) of crystals.
That being said, it doesn’t have to take this long for you because now you know! It is possible and you can do it!
FINALLY, CRYSTAL GUIDE, VENUS
We’ve finally made it down to how I was introduced to Venus.
I had a dear friend, Angel, who adopted many lovely crystals from me starting from about 2008. She was a medium and channel.
(To let you in on a secret, I don’t see people who adopt crystal from me as ‘customers’, but as family. If we’ve had more than one interaction, surprise! Welcome to the Family!)
Anyway, Angel and I became close friends even though she lived in Pennsylvania.
In the early months of our friendship, she gave me a reading, introducing me to many of my guide team, of which, Venus is one. (Actually, Venus was just one of the several guides Angel and I shared.)
Sadly, Angel has since transitioned to Spirit. I don’t have her here in the physical – but I know she is beyond happy where she is, rejoining her husband Ray as well as her beloved guide team. (I’m sure she is also there in the circle, adding her input with the rest of my team.)
I am forever grateful for the introductions she helped my team make with me, especially Crystal Guide Venus.
WHAT DOES VENUS "LOOK" LIKE?
That being said, now you might be curious what Venus looks like (or how she appears to me).
Since she is Crystalline Consciousness, one might assume she appears as a crystal. However, she has never appeared as a crystal or in a crystal form. She simply appears as sparkly, shiny white Light. This illustration is the best representation I could find.
The Light moves and pulses. Unlike the photo, it extends in all directions of the ‘source’ (meaning N, S, E and W, plus in front of and behind).
On further reflection, normally I either receive the visual, or I receive the spoken, but not usually both at the same time. I think it’s because I am paying attention to one or the other, not both.
When I feel her presence and mood, I “see” her (like the illustration shows). When she is speaking or sharing wisdom verbally, I usually see the words, not the light.
I never really made the distinction until describing the experience for this post. On reflection, though, it makes sense. When I experience her energetically, it is accompanied by the visual. When she shares wisdom, I am focusing my attention on what I am receiving verbally (the words) and most times I am transcribing at the computer.
WHAT DOES VENUS "SOUND" LIKE?
When I hear Venus, if she is ‘speaking’ to (or through) me, she actually sounds mostly like me (with some light differences difficult to put into words).
However, I know it is her because the cadence is different and she uses words in a way in which I normally wouldn’t. I have come to easily recognize this difference.
Her presence is also accompanied by a feeling in my body that is difficult to explain.
When Venus communicates with me non-verbally (with emotion or simply presence), the feeling is like a happy, warm, all-encompassing hug.
There is a sound that comes with her presence if we aren’t interacting in the spoken word. The best way I can describe the sound is tinkling wind chimes. This happens especially when she laughs or or is expressing joy. You can hear it (wind chimes) as well as feel it (effervescent – like bubbles?). Lovely!
IMPORTANT TO NOTE
I am prompted by Venus to mention this important caveat:
When I speak with the Crystal People, it isn’t only Venus with whom I am communicating. Most often it is Venus, but the information sometimes also comes through more as a collective or from different individuals. (This is a hard one to describe).
This is most obvious to me when I am channeling for an Ask Genn crystal reading. The information that comes through is sometimes from Venus but if I ask the crystal that presents for the reading something specific to it, the Crystalline Consciousness that comes through is sometimes an individual or collective of voices.
This has been changing for me lately (becoming much stronger, easier to access and more immediate). If you’ve had an Ask Genn crystal reading (or especially if you’ve had more than one), feel free to share your experience in the comments. I’d love to hear if you have noticed a difference over time.
I digress. Bottom line, what Venus wanted me to share, is how they (the Crystal People) are All One (as are we) and that we can access them individually or as a group (“it is all the same to us”, she says – cue wind chimes).
IN SUMMARY
Well, I hope this has brought you some insight into my relationship with Crystal Guide, Venus. How we came to be formally introduced, how we communicate and finally what she looks and sounds like when I experience her beautiful energy.
I am truly blessed, grateful and honored for the gift of having her both as a Guide and a dear friend.
If you experience something similar when interacting with your Crystal Friends, pursue it! It may take time and focused intention, but you can develop a back-and-forth communication with them as well. It doesn’t have to be hard. Certainly it doesn’t have to take you as long as it took me.
Let my story be your wake-up call. Don’t let how long it took me be discouraging to you. You can absolutely get right to it and skip the 10 years.
My hope is that you will trust the input you are receiving enough to develop a back and forth relationship with your Crystal Friends specifically and the Crystalline Consciousness over-all.
