COMMUNICATING WITH CRYSTAL – THE “CHECK-IN” EXPLAINED

Communicating with your crystal begins with something I call the “check-in”. Basically it is a way to determine your baseline BEFORE you pick up your crystal. This enables you to better “hear” (sense/feel/know) what your crystal is communicating to you.

TO BEGIN THE CHECK-IN, FIRST, FIND YOUR BASELINE

To begin the check-in, find a comfortable position and become mindful of any sensations you might have.

What kind of mood are you in, how does your body feel?

Take more than a few seconds on this. Take several moments and really go inside and become mindful of what your body is experiencing.

What sounds do you hear? Do you see any colors? What is your general mood? Are you experiencing any pain or discomfort? What kind of thoughts are you having? Does your body feel light or heavy? Are you grounded or do you feel spacey and disconnected?

Paying attention to your baseline will help in determining what is “yours” versus what the crystal is bringing to you. This is the way you will be able to “hear” your crystal communicating with you when you begin working with it.

NEXT, PICK UP YOUR CRYSTAL

Once you are fully aware of your baseline, pick up your crystal.

Sit with it and notice how you feel with the crystal in your hand. How is what you are experiencing different from your baseline?

Do you notice any sensations in your body which weren’t there when you started the check in?

For example, you may see colors or pictures, hear sounds, feel sensations such as buzzing or tingling, experience a shift in mood or a difference in lightness or heaviness of your limbs.

Pay attention to your chakras. Do you have a pressure or sensation in any of them that is different from the baseline? Which direction is the energy flowing? Is it up or down, does it stay in one place?

These are all ways that your crystal is speaking to you. It will vary from person to person depending on your primary sense (more on what I call your “clair” or determining your primary sense here). It may be several of these sensations, layered.

YOU MIGHT START TO DEVELOP A "SHORTHAND" WITH THE CHECK-IN

What I have noticed, after doing the check-in for well over twenty years now, is that I have developed a shorthand to decipher the Crystal People’s messages.

For instance, when I feel a pressure behind my teeth, this indicates to me “speak your truth”. Other times I will feel a drawing heaviness in my feet and lower body. This means to me “remember to stay grounded”.

Have you ever seen mediums like John Edwards? He (and others) have developed a kind of shorthand with the energies they experience with spirits.  For instance, I have seen John say “I see a rose, and a rose indicates to me (dot dot dot)” or I sense an older woman’s presence and that usually indicates to me a grandmotherly figure etc.

You might find that you develop your own shorthand with the Crystal People the more you do this
check-in.

CHECK-IN OFTEN (EVERY TIME YOU ARE ABOUT TO WORK WITH YOUR CRYSTAL)

When working with your crystal, it is important to repeat the check-in. Even if this is a crystal with which you are already intimately familiar (one which has lived with you that you work with often).

What the crystal tells you this time may be very different than what you experienced (heard, felt or saw) last time.

It is important to go through the check-in again with your crystal even if you are familiar with it and have previously done many check ins. You’re in a different place and the crystal is as well.

You need to reestablish the connection with your crystal, and especially in the light of working with programs, the best way to do that is with the check-in.

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE LOOK AND FEEL OF YOUR CRYSTAL DURING THE CHECK-IN

Besides becoming familiar with the sensations (energetic connections) you get from your crystal, it’s also good to become aware of it physically (look at it and feel it).

Become familiar with what it looks like physically. What does your crystal look like? What features does it present?

Is there Fairy Frost, Rainbows or Mirror Fractures inside? Are the sides smooth or Lineated? Does it have Barnacles or Bridges? How does it physically feel in your hand? Is it heavy or light?

Try holding your crystal in different positions and determine how it likes to be held. Some days it will be different than others.

WHY ARE THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS IMPORTANT?

This may seem like a big procedure and you might wonder if all this is necessary. But sometimes it can be helpful to know what physical characteristics your crystal has, because each configuration helps tweak the energy a little bit.

For instance, do you sense Bridging, or strong Isis energy? What about Keys or Record Keepers? (Sometimes crystals will present Record Keepers where they weren’t before).

There might even be configurations which you never noticed such as Manifestation points or Phantoms. They might be so obvious to you now that you wonder how in the world you missed such an obvious display. (Hint: perhaps it wasn’t time for you to work with those particular energies).

Paying attention to physical characteristics is especially helpful if you are programming a crystal. Becoming intimately familiar with your crystal is an important step for after you are done with the initial program and when you are working with it toward your goal. The crystal may be bringing energies to the table that you never considered which might prove to be very helpful. If we don’t pay attention, it is easy to miss the subtleties.

CHECK-IN SUMMARY

In summary, the check-in is the best way to decipher when your crystal is communicating with you.

If you are unaware of how you are feeling (physically or emotionally), it will be difficult (near impossible) to notice any shift in frequency or messages the crystal is bringing to the table.

I think skipping the check-in is the main reason people say they can’t communicate with crystal (or can’t hear/feel/sense that they are communicating).

In actuality, they ARE communicating, but they don’t realize it because they are missing the cues. It can be subtle. If you don’t pay attention to your baseline, you might miss the shift.

If you haven’t tried this before, give the check-in a try and see what messages your crystal has been sending that you might have missed!
