This Arkansas clear quartz crystal point has a large Self-Healed Imprint up one side (lots of triangular layers). It is Yin/Yang (1/2 masculine (clear) 1/2 feminine (cloudy), speaking to energy and physical characteristics, not necessarily gender). It has an interesting Stepped Isis face that falls into the category of stepped and also kind of Side-Kick. The face next to it is Lineated and has part of the wrap-around step/Side-Kick. The base is also Self-Healed with pits of Growth Interference in it.

Energetically, this crystal is bright and shiny, the Self-Healed Imprint has a sparkle to it. Tap into the balance this Yin/Yang Isis Face crystal brings. SELF-HEALED - Self-Healed crystals have been broken (either from the matrix or breaks in the body during the growth cycle) and have started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. Self-Healing looks like scales or triangular layers (or when broken in pieces, appears to be ‘glued’ back together). It may be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine and also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

IMPRINT - Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well (ease of access/opening).

YIN/YANG - Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine (referring to energy, not gender). They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.

STEPPED FACET - A 'stepped facet' (or 'stepped face') is a facet (face) that has what almost appears to be a separate facet or even a window within the confines of the face. It literally looks like a 'step' in the face. There really aren't descriptions of these features anywhere. Energetically, a stepped facet shows where, in the growth of a crystal (or person), the energy has "levelled up", or made a change from one way of thinking or being to another. A literal "stepping up" to a new level.

SIDE-KICK - This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side-kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Much less-defined than a Dolphin, a Side-kick doesn't really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a side-kick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Side-kick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a 'buddy energy' or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes "top billing" but where the Side-kick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

ISIS FACE (FIVE-SIDED) - An Isis Face is a five-sided face on a crystal point. To ‘qualify’ as an Isis face, the edges are usually symmetrical. While the Isis Face is sometimes the largest face, they are not always the largest face on the termination. Isis or Five-Sided Face crystals have a distinct powerful feminine energy (even if the point appears very clear and masculine). An Isis or Five-Sided Face point usually feels majestic and feminine (much as you would expect a goddess such as Isis to feel.) Isis Face crystals help you connect to all goddess energy.

LINEATED FACE - A Lineated Face presents as surface markings viewed in the same way you find Record Keepers. Basically, they present as a stacked triangle (start as a small triangle or starting point that is outlined continually). Sometimes the pattern runs off the face of the crystal, sometimes it doesn’t. To picture this, just imagine the lines in a Zen Garden. The innermost point may or may not be centrally located. Lineated Face crystals may be accessed during meditation in the same way that you might use a labyrinth. To work with Lineated Face crystals, follow the lines in and down to a meditative state and when you are finished, work your way back out from the center.

GROWTH INTERFERENCE - Growth Interference is missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it presents with a look like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. Other times in deep square imprints. Because there used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, they look and feel magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. I see Imprints as more associated with situations regarding people (crystal on crystal) but because Growth Interference is caused by non-crystal influences (other minerals), I see it as referring more to non-human influences (such as environmental circumstances or health issues, etc.)
