This Arkansas quartz crystal point is slightly Empathic with a contact ding. It is Masculine (clear speaking to energy and physical characteristics, not necessarily gender) with Fairy Frost and Mirror Fractures. There are Barnacles bringing old soul energy and heavily Lineated Sides. There is a nice-sized Window or Time Link. It does lean slightly left, so could be considered a Time Link to the Past, technically. However, the energy I get from it is more present time link (window to the soul – perhaps by looking to the past? You may work with a window as an entry point (a way to get into an area) and they also provide another point of access to an area that you might not have considered). It is very well Self-Healed on the base and also one of the facets of the termination (might also be an Imprint). There is a large Side-Kick and also an Imprint along a Bridge that the crystal is kind of leaning into. Again, with this crystal, the main point is technically bridging into the side crystal, but either way, the energy is still there.

This crystal has a feeling of expectation. Waiting. It feels ready to help transport you. This must be the energy of the Window I am feeling. It is clear with a varied internal landscape. Patient but ready to go. Nice!

EMPATHIC - Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

MASCULINE - Very clear points are described as Masculine (referring to physical features and possibly energy, not necessarily gender). They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes.

FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost is technically fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost, some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

MIRROR FRACTURES - Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

BARNACLES - Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Crystals with Barnacles emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). They are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father would be (like the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. The energetic description of a crystal with Barnacles is pertaining to the energy of the larger crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles rather than the energy of the Barnacles themselves.

LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

WINDOW / TIME LINK - A Window or Time Link is a crystal with an extra diamond-shaped facet. By counting the facets or faces on the crystal, you will determine if you have more than six. If you do, you have a Window. This is a difficult crystal to read. It may take some practice to master this skill. Windows are one of the most commonly misidentified crystal configurations. Window crystals (Time Links) are good for scrying and accessing other realms, as well as for accessing our own soul (window to the soul). You may work with a window as an entry point (a way to get into an area). Window crystals also provide another point of access to an area that you might not have considered.

SELF-HEALED - Self-Healed crystals have been broken (either from the matrix or breaks in the body during the growth cycle) and have started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. Self-Healing looks like scales or triangular layers (or when broken in pieces, appears to be ‘glued’ back together). It may be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine and also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

SIDE-KICK - This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side-kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Much less-defined than a Dolphin, a Side-kick doesn't really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a side-kick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Side-kick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a 'buddy energy' or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes "top billing" but where the Side-kick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

IMPRINT - Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well (ease of access/opening).

BRIDGE - A Bridge is a smaller crystal penetrating a larger crystal. They help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your Inner and Outer Selves or between yourself and others) and are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self) and are also good for connection and perspective. Just like a physical bridge, they can rise you above the muck (or a difficult crossing), while providing a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries.
