This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with a few contact chips and dings. It is super water clear (Masculine) with a shiny and blingy look and feel. It is a Devic Temple with Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and lots of sparkly peacock-colored Rainbows (lots of pink and green and flashy. There are some tiny and faint Record Keeper markings. Energetically, this crystal is bright and engaging. The Rainbows bring hope and optimism. If you feel a little bit sad, this crystal feels like it would be there to help lift your spirits.

EMPATHIC - Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

MASCULINE - Very clear points are described as Masculine (referring to energy, not gender). They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes.

DEVIC TEMPLE - Crystals which have Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and Rainbows inside are called Devic Temples and are considered Master Crystals. Other sources have described them as "having special places for Light Beings to reside" (which they do). However, the description implies that only Devic Temple crystals have this ability, but in reality, all crystals do. Because all crystals have this ability/inclination, I like to put this reminder here. Devic Temples do have a special energy about them and usually have a lot of internal interest and a sharp, powerful feel.

FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost is technically fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost, some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

MIRROR FRACTURES - Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

RAINBOWS - Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. RECORD KEEPER - A Record Keeper is a triangular marking on the face. They seem to be three-dimensional, but they usually can’t be felt with your finger. You have to hold a crystal at just the right angle in order to see the Record Keeper. Usually they are very sharply edged, equilateral triangles; however, I have seen them with rounded bottoms as well (more arrowhead shaped), which I call non-traditional. There may only be one present on a face, or you may find layers and layers of them. Record Keepers will appear and disappear (I call that ‘popping’). A Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains and they help you access special wisdom and information specific to you. In a way, they represent storage devices but the information is accessed via a portal. The portal is the Record Keeper marking.

TO VIEW SURFACE FEATURES: To view the surface of the crystal (versus looking inside), hold your crystal parallel to a light source so that you can use the glare that the light creates in order to see what is on the surface. To illustrate: Imagine a very clear lake. If the sun isn't shining off the surface, then you see right down into the lake and you can see rocks and fish and weeds. When the glare of the sun is on the water, you can see things floating on the surface like dust, bugs, or even ripples that you wouldn't have been able to see without the sun's glare. The same is true for surface features on a crystal. The best way to do this (and you will do it for each face) is to find your best light source, the sun if you are outside or a bright light or lamp if you are inside. Then, starting with the main face, work your way around the crystal by tipping it until you can see the surface features in the light's glare. There may be Etching, Record Keepers, Sigils or scratches; sometimes, there are no markings at all. Be patient. Sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error to get just the right angle.
