This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Feminine (cloudy, dense with Fairy Frost) and Empathic. It is elestiated and has a clustered Bridge. (Elestiated: not quite a full point, more amorphous and layered). There is a string of Bridged points across the end (connection and perspective plus working with harmony in groups). There is Lineation on the sides and it is Self-Healed. There are also Barnacles lending an old soul feel. This crystal feels feminine and old (like a grandmother). FEMININE - Crystals that are dense with Fairy Frost (sometimes milky in appearance) are described as Feminine (referring to energy, not gender). The concentration of density may vary from nearly opaque Fairy Frost to solid white, milky quartz. Feminine crystals help us (both men and women) to get in touch with our feminine nature. They have a soft, yet deep, mysterious energy. Yin in nature, Feminine crystals are intuitive, nurturing and receptive.

FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost consists of fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal (found inside, not like “frost on a pumpkin”). The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost but some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

EMPATHIC - Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

ELESTIAL - Elestial crystals have natural terminations over the body and face of an etched and/or stepped/layered crystal. What does that mean? They really aren’t in the shape of a point. They are layered all over with self-healed looking surfaces. Sometimes points are what I call ‘elestiated’. To me that means it is a point that isn’t quite all point, and isn’t quite all Elestial, but sort of a combination of the two. Elestial crystals have a soft, loving energy. They usually feel angelic to me. I use them when I want to connect to an angelic energy all around me. Their energy is less focused, more amorphous (having no definite form, without shape).

BRIDGE - A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. They help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others) and are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self) and are also good for connection and perspective. Just like a physical bridge, they can rise you above the muck (or a difficult crossing), while providing a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries.

CLUSTER - Clusters are points growing together on a matrix. Some Clusters grow on a sandstone matrix, others on all quartz, and still others may grow from a ‘seed’ of crystal (like a mass of double terminated points). Clusters are good for helping with group dynamics. Families, co-workers, anywhere a group of people might need help in getting along. They are also good for raising the vibrations in an environment and bringing light and energy into that space.

LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

SELF-HEALED - Self-Healed crystals have been broken (either from the matrix or breaks in the body during the growth cycle) and have started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. Self-Healing looks like scales or triangular layers (or when broken in pieces, appears to be ‘glued’ back together). It may be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine and also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

BARNACLES - Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Crystals with Barnacles emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). They are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father would be (like the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. The description of a crystal with Barnacles is pertaining to the energy of the larger crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles rather than the energy of the Barnacles themselves.
