This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with some pretty serious damage to one termination and lightly Smoky. It is Double Terminated and dense with Fairy Frost. There are several Bridges, one of them has a Rainbow between it and the main crystal. When Rainbows appear on the surface between two closely connected (fused) crystals, metaphorically, this can represent how a relationship with a closely-attached-other can bring us Rainbows. Often the fusing of the two crystals produces a surface on which Rainbows like to ride. The relationship with the closely-attached-other creates a Rainbow to be explored and honored while the two are connected. There are manganese Inclusions on the inside and iron oxide on the outside in areas. Manganese is a dark black mineral often present on Arkansas crystal. A mineral of bonding, Manganese brings people closer together, activating the energies of cooperation in group efforts. Manganese stimulates spontaneity, creativity and enhances positive energy. Manganese produces a grounding effect which can help to balance the emotions and the physical body. Iron oxide is a rusty/golden-yellow mineral coating occurring on lots of crystals, usually taken off with an acid bath. These crystals have an Earthy and grounding energy and remind us what crystals look like in their natural state (before an acid bath).  Sometimes it is trapped in fissures and fractures and doesn't (can't) come off, even with the bath. Crystals like these with the mineral and rust still on tell us to "remember where you come from". It speaks to many levels and layers. Where we come from physically, what we've been through, both emotionally and physically, where we come from in our past (this life) and where we come from ultimately (Spirit) etc. These crystals give us pause to reflect on our past and contemplate the residue of the experiences we have accumulated. This crystal is leaning into its bridges, almost as if for support. Energetically I sense wisdom in placing emphasis on connection and the perspective of rising above challenges for an easier understanding.

EMPATHIC - Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

SMOKY - Smoky crystal is a good crystal for grounding. It is also elevating to your mood because it picks up and grounds your negativity. (If you use it for this purpose, be sure to cleanse your Smoky quartz frequently). Crystals become smoky when exposed to radiation and may be natural or irradiated by man. Typically, natural Smoky crystals are usually a lighter grey/brown than crystals which have been artificially irradiated (which are usually almost black). That being said, the only way to know for certain whether a point is naturally or artificially radiated is to ask the person where the point originated.

DOUBLE TERMINATED - Double Terminated crystals have a termination on both ends. These crystals grow from a ‘seed’ molecule of silicon dioxide in clay and grow outward in both directions. They are not formed on a matrix. The energy in these crystals flows in both directions as well. Even though they have two terminations, oftentimes there is usually one end that feels like the ‘top’ and one that feels like the ‘bottom’. Double Terminated points promote psychic ability and dream recall (because they send as well as receive) and are also used for balance. They are useful in any application in which you want the energy to flow in both directions. Because the energy flows in both directions, I like using them in healing layouts or grids and for communication with guides/others.

FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost consists of fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal (found inside, not like “frost on a pumpkin”). The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost but some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

BRIDGE - A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. They help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others) and are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self) and are also good for connection and perspective. Just like a physical bridge, they can rise you above the muck (or a difficult crossing), while providing a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries.

RAINBOWS - Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. INCLUDED - Inclusions in crystals occur when crystal is forming, and other substances are present in the solution. These substances might be air bubbles or other minerals but when speaking about Included crystals we are usually referring to other minerals. These minerals become trapped (or included) within the crystal point during its growth and are therefore called Inclusions. Air and moisture inclusions fall into the category of Fairy Frost, a non-mineral inclusion. The properties of Included crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. The properties of the included mineral will be enhanced and amplified by being trapped within the structure of quartz.
