This Arkansas quartz crystal is an Empathic Twin/Soulmate. The termination and most of one side on one of the twins is nearly completely lost to a pretty hard hit. It left some sharp edges to be mindful of. (This is often metaphor for how our wounding can result in energy that can come across as ‘sharp’ or ‘biting’ when others touch our wounded areas. Also acts as reminder to be gentle with wounds as the heal. It is Yin/Yang and the upper, clear (Masculine) half has Rainbows and Mirror Fractures. There are many Record Keepers. There are some Keys (ease of access) and there is an area of Growth Interference in the densely Feminine base.

EMPATHIC - Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

TWIN or SOULMATE - The crystal names Twin and Soulmate can be used interchangeably and are defined as "two crystals of a similar size grown side-by-side". These crystals promote loving contact and togetherness. Soulmate or Twin crystals may assist in the search for a mate but we are ultimately responsible for the outcome. If you are already in relationship, a Twin or Soulmate can help strengthen togetherness and bonding in your current relationship. These descriptions aren't only referring to intimate partnerships or relationships. It applies to any bonded pair.

YIN/YANG - Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine (referring to energy, not gender). They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.

RAINBOWS - Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. This is often a metaphor how our challenges bring gifts with them but sometimes you have to look at them from a different perspective to find the gift (it isn’t always obvious). Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us when things look bleak to look for the gifts our traumas bring. MIRROR FRACTURES - Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes) or traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

RECORD KEEPER - A Record Keeper is a triangular marking on the face. They seem to be three-dimensional, but they usually can’t be felt with your finger. You have to hold a crystal at just the right angle in order to see the Record Keeper. Usually they are very sharply edged, equilateral triangles; however, I have seen them with rounded bottoms as well (more arrowhead shaped), which I call non-traditional. There may only be one present on a face, or you may find layers and layers of them. Record Keepers will appear and disappear (I call that ‘popping’). A Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains and they help you access special wisdom and information specific to you. In a way, they represent storage devices but the information is accessed via a portal. The portal is the Record Keeper marking.

KEY - Keys are indentations left by another crystal. Key crystals help you unlock answers to questions you may have. They help you to access anything which you previously were blocked from accessing before you found the key. Is there an area which you could use help in accessing an answer which has previously been blocked to you? The energy of a Key crystal can help you to find an easier, more direct way in. Imagine this as easily opening the lock on the front door and walking right in (rather than having to check all the windows for one that is unlocked, climbing through, scraping your elbows and knocking your head). Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. I like to put my finger in the Key as I work with the crystal. Meditate on the issue for which you need opening while holding the crystal in this way.

GROWTH INTERFERENCE - Growth Interference is missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it presents with a look like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. Other times in deep square imprints. Because there used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, they look and feel magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. I see Imprints as more associated with situations regarding people (crystal on crystal) but because Growth Interference is caused by non-crystal influences (other minerals), I see it as referring more to non-human influences (such as environmental circumstances or health issues, etc.)
