This is a slightly Empathic Dolphin crystal with a few contact dings and chips. Empathic (broken, chipped and otherwise damaged) crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy. Dolphin crystals are crystals which have a smaller crystal attached to (riding along) the side, not quite big enough to be a Twin or Soulmate, but aligned similarly. They are sometimes called a baby. If you picture a dolphin with a baby swimming very near it, this is what the Dolphin crystal looks like (a larger crystal with a smaller crystal riding alongside). Metaphysically, Dolphin crystals have a fun, playful energetic energy (that of the baby) and they also have a nurturing, protective energy (that of the mother or adult). Imagine the energy to lovingly guide, teach and protect our young. This is the energy of a Dolphin Crystal. Anytime you need to tap into the playful, energetic, loving way dolphin mothers teach and guide their young you might ask for the assistance of or choose to work with a Dolphin crystal. It is full of dense Fairy Frost (helps to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth) and mostly Feminine. Crystals that are dense with Fairy Frost (sometimes milky in appearance) are described as Feminine. The concentration of density in a Feminine crystal varies from nearly opaque Fairy Frost to solid white, milky quartz. Feminine crystals help us (both men and women) to get in touch with our feminine nature. They have a soft, yet deep, mysterious energy. Yin in nature, Feminine crystals are intuitive, nurturing and receptive. Typically, the term Feminine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being dense or milky in color, and doesn’t always refer to the energetic qualities. A note on when I describe crystals as Feminine (or Masculine) typically refers to the energetic qualities referring to energy, not gender. It also has Mirror Fractures inside. Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes) or traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest. The lower “body” of the crystal is narrow due to crystal Imprints and there are also Keys. Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well. Keys are indentations left by another crystal. Key crystals help you unlock answers to questions you may have. They help you to access anything which you previously were blocked from accessing before you found the key. Is there an area which you could use help in accessing an answer which has previously been blocked to you? The energy of a Key crystal can help you to find an easier, more direct way in. Imagine this as easily opening the lock on the front door and walking right in (rather than having to check all the windows for one that is unlocked, climbing through, scraping your elbows and knocking your head). Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. How would you determine a Key versus an Imprint? Both are caused by the presence of another crystal which the main crystal has grown around. A Key typically presents when the termination (or base) of another crystal has penetrated the main crystal, leaving an indentation (like poking your finger straight into the icing on a cake. An Imprint usually presents along the sides and occurs like if you laid the side of your finger onto the icing. One is more directly poking into (Key) and the other is more laying side-by-side (Imprint). There are a few small areas of Growth Interference. Growth Interference is missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation and then when the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. I see Imprints as more associated with situations regarding people (crystal on crystal) but because growth interference crystals are caused by non-crystal influences (other minerals), I see Growth Interference as referring more to non-human influences (such as environmental circumstances or health issues, etc.) There are dark spotty Inclusions of Manganese. Inclusions in crystals occur when crystal is forming, and other substances are present in the solution (in this case Mangagese). The properties of Included crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. The properties of the included mineral will be enhanced and amplified by being trapped within the structure of quartz. Manganese is a dark black mineral often present on Arkansas crystal. A mineral of bonding, Manganese brings people closer together, activating the energies of cooperation in group efforts. Manganese stimulates spontaneity, creativity and enhances positive energy. Manganese produces a grounding effect which can help to balance the emotions and the physical body. There is some iron oxide still present. Crystals with the mineral and rust still on (and clay in some cases) tell us to "remember where you come from". It speaks to many levels and layers. Where we come from physically, what we've been through, both emotionally and physically, where we come from in our past (this life) and where we come from ultimately (Spirit) etc. These crystals give us pause to reflect on our past and contemplate the residue of the experiences we have accumulated. The markings on the facets are faint, but I see Lineated Faces and a few faint Record Keepers. You might need a magnifying glass or jeweler’s loupe. A Lineated Face presents as surface markings viewed in the same way you find Record Keepers. Basically, they present as a stacked triangle (start as a small triangle or starting point that is outlined continually). Sometimes the pattern runs off the face of the crystal, sometimes it doesn’t. To picture this, just imagine the lines in a Zen Garden. The innermost point may or may not be centrally located. Lineated Face crystals may be accessed during meditation in the same way that you might use a labyrinth. To work with Lineated Face crystals, follow the lines in and down to a meditative state and when you are finished, work your way back out from the center. A Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains and they help you access special wisdom and information specific to you. In a way, they represent storage devices but the information is accessed via a portal. The portal is the Record Keeper marking.
