- details
Yin/Yang Arkansas quartz crystal point, Empathic with contact dings, Imprints around the base, interesting Sigils and Etching on the faces. There is Fairy Frost and Mirror Fractures and Lineated Sides.
YIN/YANG - Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine. They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.
EMPATHIC - Broken, chipped and otherwise damaged crystals are called Empathic. Empathic crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.
IMPRINT - Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well.
ETCHED - Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to SIGILS).
SIGILS - Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.
FAIRY FROST - Fairy Frost crystals have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. Devic Temple crystals have a combination of Mirror Fractures, Rainbows and Fairy Frost. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost. Some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.
MIRROR FRACTURES - Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.
LINEATED SIDES - Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point. Lineated Sides can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. If you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information or feel a desire to go deeper, you can unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. I experience this as receiving a deeper knowing or understanding that seems to be released quietly after they are unzipped. If you drag your thumbnail down the side of a point with deep striations, you are ‘unzipping’ the crystal. To zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. This is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. I used to think that unzipping would be like opening a box and looking inside, revealing a few more items, and once you see them, that is all. It isn’t quite like this though. It is more like opening the box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion that has infinite layers. Just remember when you finish with your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.
