Rainbow Quartz Crystal

Physical description: Rainbows are often present inside a crystal due to traumas and fractures (temperature chances. shocks, hits). Some of the fractures are what I call mirror fractures; they look like mirrors and are sometimes are called Wall Crystals. Rainbows may be just pink and green, or they may have the full rainbow color. They often occur on the inner “wall” where two crystals have grown together. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. The rainbows aren’t always in an arc shape unless the fracture on which they occur is curved.

Metaphysical description: Rainbows are a gift from the Spirit Keeper in the crystal. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved. They also help us to remember that our traumas bring us gifts, but we must sometimes shine a light and look for the beauty that they brought.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SIZE:

THE IMAGE SHOWN IS AN EXAMPLE OF A RAINBOW CRYSTAL. YOU WILL RECEIVE A SIMILAR CRYSTAL, BUT NOT THE CRYSTAL PICTURED.

*The size of these crystals will vary. I will send the most representative example of the type of configuration ordered, so if a crystal is small, but an excellent example of the particular configuration, I will send that crystal. If it is particularly small, I may send two in one bag (say 1/2 inch or so)… I aim for a size range from 1 to 2 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter.

Your Rainbow crystal will come with a business-card-sized printed description of the characteristics and special qualities of the crystal within. Crystal sizes may vary greatly in size as I am selecting for the shape, not the size.

I have packaged it with the description card to help you learn the identifying characteristics and uses of this special configuration.

This crystal is sent as a representative sample of a Rainbow crystal. It isn’t necessarily sent for its size, and sometimes may be Empathic (chipped, dinged or damaged), if it is an excellent representation of this type (for example, it might present as a very good Manifestation point in an Empathic (chipped and/or damaged) chunk).

RAINBOWS IN CRYSTALS – WHAT ARE THEY !?

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to see a Rainbow in crystal, it is a beautiful thing! You might have exclaimed “Wow! Rainbows in crystals!” and wondered “what are they and how do I work with them!?” If so, you’re in luck. We’ll talk a little about that in this blog post. Let’s start by …

02642_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with a few contact dings, but the large divot in the termination is a deep Key (not a missing chunk, though there is a chip near the Key). It is primarily Masculine (clear, but the bottom is very dense with Fairy Frost, making it closer to Yin/Yang, though not half masculine/half feminine – more like two-thirds/one-third. There is a Bridge with the termination broken off (still functions as a Bridge), Lineated Sides and a Tabby adhered to the side with a Rainbow in it. When Rainbows appear on the surface between two closely connected (fused) crystals, metaphorically, this can represent how a relationship with a closely-attached-other can bring us Rainbows. Often the fusing of the two crystals produces a surface on which Rainbows like to ride. The relationship with the closely-attached-other creates a Rainbow to be explored and honored while the two are connected.

EMPATHIC – Broken, chipped and otherwise damaged crystals are called Empathic. Empathic crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

KEY – Keys are indentations left by another crystal. Key crystals help you unlock answers to questions you may have. They help you to access anything which you previously were blocked from accessing before you found the key. Is there an area which you could use help in accessing an answer which has previously been blocked to you? The energy of a Key crystal can help you to find an easier, more direct way in. Imagine this as easily opening the lock on the front door and walking right in (rather than having to check all the windows for one that is unlocked, climbing through, scraping your elbows and knocking your head). Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. I like to put my finger in the Key as I work with the crystal. Meditate on the issue for which you need opening while holding the crystal in this way.

MASCULINE – Very clear points are described as Masculine. They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes. The term Masculine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being very clear and typically refers to the energetic qualities (masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.) Just like with humans, however, many Masculine crystals do have masculine energy (referring to gender), but some have feminine energy. This is especially true when a clear (Masculine) crystal has an Isis Face. Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal.

YIN/YANG – Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine (referring to energy, not gender). They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.

BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Bridge Crystals help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others). They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective. They bring you up out of the muck, and give you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. Also called Inner Child.

LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point and can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ the crystal and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion with infinite layers. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

TABBY or TABULAR – Tabular or Tabby crystals are thin, flat crystals. To ‘qualify’ as a Tabby, they should be no more than half as thin as they are wide (2 to 1 ratio). For example, if a crystal is one inch wide it needs to be one-half inch thick (or less) in order to be called a Tabby. If it is two inches wide it needs to be one inch thick (or less), etc. Tabby crystals are good helpers with communication. I remember this because they are shaped like a tablet.

RAINBOWS – Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us.  I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. Connect to the gift of love these crystals with Rainbows bring.

02641_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with some contact dings, deep Keys, Etching, Sigils, Lineated Sides and Lineated Faces. It is full of Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and a few Rainbows.

Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. I like to put my finger in the Key as I work with the crystal. Meditate on the issue for which you need opening while holding the crystal in this way.

ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to SIGILS).

SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.

There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion with infinite layers. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

LINEATED FACE – Lineated Face crystals are crystals with surface markings viewed in the same way you find Record Keepers. Lineated face crystals may have markings which start as a small triangle that is outlined continually, oftentimes the pattern runs off the face of the crystal, sometimes it doesn’t. To picture this, just imagine the lines in a Zen Garden. The innermost triangle may or may not be centrally located. Lineated Face crystals may be accessed during meditation in the same way that you might use a labyrinth. To work with Lineated Face crystals, follow the lines in and down to a meditative state and when you are finished, work your way back out from the center.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost crystals have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. Devic Temple crystals have a combination of Mirror Fractures, Rainbows and Fairy Frost. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost. Some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

02640_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is missing its termination to a large crystal Imprint. It has many Imprints up the sides as well. Full of Fairy Frost and Mirror fractures, Lineated Sides. It has a really good feel in the hand.

IMPRINT – Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost is found inside a crystal (not like “frost on a pumpkin”). Fairy Frost is fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal. This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with a chip out of the termination and some contact dings on the sides. It is Masculine (clear) with a Rainbow on a Mirror Fracture. There is a Key on the backside with a Manifestation point just below it. I have marked it with a sticker. The Manifestation point is almost emerging from the inside. I just found another small Manifestation point near the sticker. I will put a smaller sticker pointing to that one.

MANIFESTATION – Manifestation points (which I have sometimes seen called “baby within”) are small crystal points that have formed and are engulfed entirely within a larger point; these are quite rare. They have a special energy to them that is difficult to describe. It is almost like a pregnancy, or a feeling of expectation inside. There is fullness in the energy a Manifestation point exudes. The Manifestation point refers to both the point within the main crystal as well as the main crystal itself. I can usually feel a Manifestation point by its special energy before I actually see it within the main crystal. Manifestation points are powerful for manifesting, which should come as no surprise. They may assist in the manifesting of many things, but for the best results, it is wise to focus on a single desire at a time.

This Arkansas quartz crystal point has a large Bridge crystal poking into the side, a completely Self Healed base, Lineated Sides, Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and a few small Rainbows, an Inner Child crystal and Barnacles on the base, one large one with a Rainbow inside. When Rainbows appear on the surface between two closely connected (fused) crystals, metaphorically, this can represent how a relationship with a closely-attached-other can bring us Rainbows. Often the fusing of the two crystals produces a surface on which Rainbows like to ride. Also called Inner Child.

SELF-HEALED – Self-Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. A Self-Healed crystal looks like it has scales or triangular layers. Self-healing can be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-Healed points also present as crystals that were broken in half but sort of ‘glued’ back together with new growth. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine. They also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

Connect to the gift of love these crystals with Rainbows bring.

INNER CHILD (see also BRIDGE) – Inner Child (a type of Bridge) is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Both names, Bridge and Inner Child, are used interchangeably. Inner Child crystals I see as much smaller and penetrating more ‘in’ than ‘out’ and they have a feeling to me of going ‘within’. Bridge or Inner Child crystals help to bridge between worlds. It may be the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others in the physical environment in which you now live. Inner Child crystals can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self).

BARNACLES – Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Usually, these crystals emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). I usually find that these Old Soul crystals with Barnacles are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father or great grandmother/father would be (Imagine the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. I think of the description of a crystal with Barnacles not so much as a description of the Barnacles themselves, but of the energy of the crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles.

LEFT ACTIVATION WINDOW/TIME LINK TO THE PAST – A Left Activation Window is an extra facet that leans to the left. It looks like a parallelogram leaning left. They may be sliver-thin or thick. It may remind you of a back slash on a computer keyboard. Left Activation Windows are Time Links to the past. They also activate left-brain functions (such as logical thinking and analysis). If you are inclined to be more in one ‘brain’ or the other, it is good to use the crystal of the hemisphere you tend not to use as much. Once you have reached a balance, you should use a Left and a Right Activation crystal together to maintain that balance.
