Included Quartz Crystal

Physical description: When crystal is forming, there may be other substances present in the solution. These substances might be air bubbles or other minerals. They become trapped within the crystal point during its growth and are called Inclusions. Air and moisture inclusions fall into the category of Fairy Frost, a non-mineral inclusion. Your included crystal may be a point, a partial point or a small cluster depending on availability.

Metaphysical description: The properties of these crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. The properties of the included mineral will be enhanced and amplified by being trapped within the structure of quartz.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SIZE:

THE IMAGE SHOWN IS AN EXAMPLE OF AN INCLUDED CRYSTAL. YOU WILL RECEIVE A SIMILAR CRYSTAL, BUT NOT THE CRYSTAL PICTURED.

*The size of these crystals will vary. I will send the most representative example of the type of configuration ordered, so if a crystal is small, but an excellent example of the particular configuration, I will send that crystal. If it is particularly small, I may send two in one bag (say 1/2 inch or so)… I aim for a size range from 1 to 2 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter.

Your Included crystal will come with a business-card-sized printed description of the characteristics and special qualities of the crystal within. Crystal sizes may vary greatly in size as I am selecting for the shape, not the size.

I have packaged it with the description card to help you learn the identifying characteristics and uses of this special configuration.

This crystal is sent as a representative sample of an Included crystal. It isn’t necessarily sent for its size, and sometimes may be Empathic (chipped, dinged or damaged), if it is an excellent representation of this type (for example, a very good Manifestation point in an Empathic chunk, or an excellent Record Keeper on a partial point).

02633_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a very Empathic Double Terminated point, missing most of both terminations. It has grey Inclusions, Lineated Sides and is very clear (Masculine) with Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and some Rainbows. Has a really good feel in the hand.

EMPATHIC – Broken, chipped and otherwise damaged crystals are called Empathic. Empathic crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

DOUBLE TERMINATED – Double Terminated crystals have a termination on both ends. These crystals grow from a ‘seed’ molecule of silicon dioxide in clay and grow outward in both directions. They are not formed on a matrix. The energy in these crystals flows in both directions as well. Even though they have two terminations, oftentimes there is usually one end that feels like the ‘top’ and one that feels like the ‘bottom’. Double Terminated points promote psychic ability and dream recall (because they send as well as receive) and are also used for balance. They are useful in any application in which you want the energy to flow in both directions. Because the energy flows in both directions, I like using them in healing layouts or grids.

INCLUDED – Included crystals occur when crystal is forming, and there may be other substances present in the solution. These substances might be air bubbles or other minerals. They become trapped (or Included) within the crystal point during its growth and are called Inclusions or Included crystals. Air and moisture inclusions fall into the category of Fairy Frost, a non-mineral inclusion. The properties of Included crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. The properties of the included mineral will be enhanced and amplified by being trapped within the structure of quartz.

LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point and can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ the crystal and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion with infinite layers. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

MASCULINE – Very clear points are described as Masculine. They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes. The term Masculine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being very clear and typically refers to the energetic qualities (masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.) Just like with humans, however, many Masculine crystals do have masculine energy (referring to gender), but some have feminine energy. This is especially true when a clear (Masculine) crystal has an Isis Face. Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost crystals have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. Devic Temple crystals have a combination of Mirror Fractures, Rainbows and Fairy Frost. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost. Some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

RAINBOWS – Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. Connect to the gift of love these crystals with Rainbows bring.

02625_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is lightly Smoky, ET (Extra-Terrestrial or Extra-Termination), Empathic with some light contact dings, deeply penetrating Bridges, Etching and Sigils on the faces and Sides (some of the Sigils remind me of dragon scales), Lineated Sides, a Side-Kick and dense with Fairy Frost. I really like this crystal!

SMOKY – Crystals become smoky when exposed to radiation. They may be natural or irradiated by man. Typically, natural Smoky crystals are usually a lighter grey/brown than crystals which have been artificially irradiated; these are usually almost black. It is possible to find very dark (almost black) natural Smoky quartz but usually it tends to be lighter in color. The only way to know for certain whether a point is naturally or artificially radiated is to ask the person where the point originated. Smoky crystal is a good grounding stone. It is also elevating to your mood because it grounds and picks up your negativity. If you use it for this purpose, be sure to cleanse your Smoky quartz frequently.

ET, EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL or EXTRA-TERMINATION – Crystals with a single termination at the top and several terminations coming out of the base. Extra Terrestrial crystals remind me of a cartoon version of a rocket ship (a cigar-shaped ship with fire coming out the bottom). Extraterrestrial crystals have a powerful energy. You may use them to assist you in accessing beings from other realities (extraterrestrials) and Angels. I often also get a sense of flying through the universe when holding these crystals (travelling through a black starry expanse).

BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Bridge Crystals help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others). They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective. They bring you up out of the muck, and give you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. Also called Inner Child.

ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to SIGILS).

SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.

SIDE-KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side-kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Less defined than a Dolphin, a Sidekick doesn\’t really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a sidekick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Sidekick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a \’buddy energy\’ or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes \”top billing\” but where the Sidekick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost is found inside a crystal (not like “frost on a pumpkin”). Fairy Frost is fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal.

02620_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point falls somewhere between Dolphin and a very well-developed Side-Kick. I get more Dolphin energy – you see what you get. There is a Bridge in the termination of the smaller point and the whole crystal is mostly Feminine with a little bit of clarity in the tip. Lineated Sides.

DOLPHIN – Dolphin crystals are crystals which have a smaller crystal attached to (riding along) the side, not quite big enough to be a Twin or Soulmate, but aligned similarly. They are sometimes called a baby. If you picture a dolphin with a baby swimming very near it, this is what the Dolphin crystal looks like (a larger crystal with a smaller crystal riding alongside). Metaphysically, Dolphin crystals have a fun, playful energetic energy (that of the baby) and they also have a nurturing, protective energy (that of the mother or adult). Imagine the energy to lovingly guide, teach and protect our young. This is the energy of a Dolphin Crystal. Anytime you need to tap into the playful, energetic, loving way dolphin mothers teach and guide their young you might ask for the assistance of or choose to work with a Dolphin crystal.

SIDE-KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. Also called Inner Child.

FEMININE – Feminine crystals are dense and milky. The concentration of density in a Feminine crystal varies from nearly opaque Fairy Frost to solid white, milky quartz. Sometimes a crystal with some clarity (which typically is described as Masculine) will still emit a feminine energy. Feminine crystals help us (both men and women) to get in touch with our feminine nature. They have a soft, yet deep, mysterious energy. Yin in nature, Feminine crystals are intuitive, nurturing and receptive. Typically, the term Feminine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being dense or milky in color, and doesn’t always refer to the energetic qualities. Just like with humans, many Feminine crystals also have feminine energy, but some have masculine energy. Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal. It is important to note I am talking about feminine, referring to energy, not feminine, referring to gender.

02616_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Feminine (cloudy or milky), has Bridges, Barnacles, Drusy, is Empathic with a few contact dings, has Inclusions of an orangish mineral, I’m not sure what it is. It has an Isis Face, Etching and Sigils on the faces and Lineated Sides.

Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal. It is important to note I am talking about feminine, referring to energy, not feminine, referring to gender.

BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal.

BARNACLES – Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Usually, these crystals emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). I usually find that these Old Soul crystals with Barnacles are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father or great grandmother/father would be (Imagine the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. I think of the description of a crystal with Barnacles not so much as a description of the Barnacles themselves, but of the energy of the crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles.

DRUSY – Very similar to Barnacles, Drusy (sometimes spelled Druzy) consist of very small points that are described as ‘a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals. The Drusy clusters consist of tiny crystal points in their very formation, and are encrusted on either sandstone or quartz-based matrices. The tiny crystals making up the Drusy look like sugar crystals. Drusy may be seen on a point or on clusters. I think of Drusy crystals as assisting with ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

ISIS FACE (FIVE-SIDED) – An Isis Face is a five-sided face on a crystal point. To ‘qualify’ as an Isis face, the edges are usually symmetrical. While the Isis Face is sometimes the largest face, they are not always the largest face on the termination. Isis or Five-Sided Face crystals have a distinct powerful feminine energy (even if the point appears very clear and masculine). An Isis or Five-Sided Face point usually feels majestic and feminine (much as you would expect a goddess such as Isis to feel.) Isis Face crystals help you connect to all goddess energy, not just the Goddess Isis.

02608_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point had the top of its termination knocked off sometime during the growth process and it Self Healed itself back together. There is still a fissure where the break was. It has Growth Interference, Bridges, Etching and Sigils, a Side Kick, Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures, Imprints and Lineated Sides. It is Empathic with some contact dings. Lovely, solid energy.

SELF-HEALED – Self-Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. A Self-Healed crystal looks like it has scales or triangular layers. Self-healing can be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-Healed points also present as crystals that were broken in half but sort of ‘glued’ back together with new growth. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine. They also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

GROWTH INTERFERENCE – Growth Interference crystals have missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it presents with a look like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. Other times in deep square imprints. Because there used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, they look and feel magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation (or person), and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. I see Imprints as more associated with situations regarding people (crystal on crystal) but because growth interference crystals is caused by non-crystal influences (other minerals), I see Growth Interference as referring more to non-human influences (such as environmental circumstances or health issues, etc.)

Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

IMPRINT – Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well.

02591_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Yin/Yang with a base that is densely Feminine and a top that is super water clear. A little difficult to define, it is three crystals tightly merged and one traditionally defined Side-Kick – I would call them all Side-Kicks though that’s not really quite a perfect description (four total merged points). The termination of the main point is chipped, making it Empathic. There is lots of triangular Lineation on the faces, echoing the triangular angles on the point. Mirror Fractures inside remind me of Mountains. There are Imprints. I feel transported to somewhere similar to the Himalayas when looking at this crystal. Snowy crags and deep crevasses. I think this crystal would take a person on a massive journey, given the time and attention. I got these flashes just after minutes of holding it. You can go on an epic journey right from your home. No passports, no jetlag. I really like it!

YIN/YANG – Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine (referring to energy, not gender). They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.

SIDE-KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists).

LINEATED FACE – Lineated Face crystals are crystals with surface markings viewed in the same way you find Record Keepers. Lineated face crystals may have markings which start as a small triangle that is outlined continually, oftentimes the pattern runs off the face of the crystal, sometimes it doesn’t. To picture this, just imagine the lines in a Zen Garden. The innermost triangle may or may not be centrally located. Lineated Face crystals may be accessed during meditation in the same way that you might use a labyrinth. To work with Lineated Face crystals, follow the lines in and down to a meditative state and when you are finished, work your way back out from the center.

MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes) or traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement).

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is Empathic with a few contact dings, the sides are heavily Lineated and stepped. Lineated Faces, Bridges and Yin/Yang. It is an unusual shape that defies exact pinpointing into a particular definition, but comes closest to Side-Kicks.

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a Double Terminated Tabby (good for needed give and take of communication), has a Side-Kick, a small Double Terminated Bridge (connection/perspective), Lineated Sides and Fairy Frost. I really like the energy of this crystal.

TABBY or TABULAR – Tabular or Tabby crystals are thin, flat crystals. To ‘qualify’ as a Tabby, they should be no more than half as thin as they are wide (2 to 1 ratio). For example, if a crystal is one inch wide it needs to be one-half inch thick (or less) in order to be called a Tabby. If it is two inches wide it needs to be one inch thick (or less), etc. Tabby crystals are good helpers with communication. I remember this because they are shaped like a tablet.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost is found inside a crystal (not like “frost on a pumpkin”). Fairy Frost is fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal.

02523_S2 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a partial point, heavily Self Healed. It is actually about ½ of the point. Lots of Barnacles, Feminine, Fairy Frost, Side-Kicks and Drusy. Slightly Curved. So beautiful!

SIDE-KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes \”top billing\” but where the Sidekick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

CURVED – Crystals with a curved shape or have sides that are curved. This happens when the crystal is forming and it is a rare occurrence. Sometimes just the sides are curved; sometimes the whole crystal looks bent. Sometimes they are self-healed into a curved or bent form. They have a gentle, yet powerful energy and help promote a flexible attitude. Think “go with the flow”.

SELF HEALED CRYSTALS

This week we’re going to talk about Self Healed crystals. What they look like, how they present and what makes their special energy unique. WHAT ARE SELF HEALED CRYSTALS? Self Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken ends with new growth. First of all, what …
