Physical description: Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. I haven\’t found reference to these marks in any crystal book. Technically, I would place them into the “Key” category.

Metaphysical description: Crystals with Imprints show how something is affected by outside influences. The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining its basic inherent truth and beauty. Because the change in structure is caused by another crystal, I see the outside influences as those caused by other humans (versus non-human influences such as illness, etc with Growth Interference crystals).

*The size of these crystals will vary. I will send the most representative example of the type of configuration ordered, so if a crystal is small, but an excellent example of the particular configuration, I will send that crystal. If it is particularly small, I may send two in one bag (say 1/2 inch or so)… I aim for a size range from 1 to 2 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter.

Your Imprint crystal will come with a business-card-sized printed description of the characteristics and special qualities of the crystal within. Crystal sizes may vary greatly in size as I am selecting for the shape, not the size.

I have packaged it with the description card to help you learn the identifying characteristics and uses of this special configuration.

This crystal is sent as a representative sample of an Imprint crystal. It isn’t necessarily sent for its size, and sometimes may be Empathic (chipped, dinged or damaged), if it is an excellent representation of this type (for example, a very good Manifestation point in an Empathic chunk, or an excellent Record Keeper on a partial point).

This is a large Arkansas quartz crystal point that has its body-shape created by crystal Imprints. Based on how many there are, it was probably nestled between at least two other points. It is Empathic with contact dings and full of Fairy Frost and some Mirror Fractures. It feels good in a closed fist. Warm and inviting.

Wow, there’s a lot going on with this Arkansas quartz crystal point. It is dense with Fairy Frost (Feminine) with lots of layered Bridges. There is a lot of Adularia (mostly gold colored, some white). There is a small Cathedral-like clump at the top, Growth Interference, Etching and Sigils. This crystal has an old, magical, wise feel to it. I really like it.

FEMININE – Feminine crystals are dense and milky. The concentration of density in a Feminine crystal varies from nearly opaque Fairy Frost to solid white, milky quartz. Sometimes a crystal with some clarity (which typically is described as Masculine) will still emit a feminine energy. Feminine crystals help us (both men and women) to get in touch with our feminine nature. They have a soft, yet deep, mysterious energy. Yin in nature, Feminine crystals are intuitive, nurturing and receptive. Typically, the term Feminine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being dense or milky in color, and doesn’t always refer to the energetic qualities. Just like with humans, many Feminine crystals also have feminine energy, but some have masculine energy. BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Bridge Crystals help to bridge between worlds (the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others). They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective. They bring you up out of the muck, and give you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. ADULARIA – The Adularia included in (and on) Arkansas quartz is white and also golden colored. Fun fact: the optical effect of adularescence in moonstone is typically due to Adularia. Energetically, the Adularia inclusions bring these things to the table: *tranquility, inward journeying, a stone of the Goddess, receiving inner guidance, assisting spiritually to relate to the Divine Feminine, finding one\’s highest path, emanating the inner beauty and power of the Divine Feminine, assisting in channeling healing energies, opening to inner journeys, releasing patterns which no longer serve, engendering peace and tranquility. GROWTH INTERFERENCE – Growth Interference crystals have missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it presents with a look like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. Other times in deep square imprints. Because there used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, they look and feel magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation (or person), and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). INCLUDED – Included crystals occur when crystal is forming, and there may be other substances present in the solution. These substances might be air bubbles or other minerals. They become trapped (or Included) within the crystal point during its growth and are called Inclusions or Included crystals. Air and moisture inclusions fall into the category of Fairy Frost, a non-mineral inclusion. The properties of Included crystals will vary, depending on the mineral included within the crystal. RECORD KEEPER – Record Keepers are crystals that have triangular markings on the faces. They seem to be three-dimensional, but they usually can’t be felt with your finger. You have to hold a crystal at just the right angle in order to see the Record Keeper. Usually they are very sharply edged, equilateral triangles; however, I have seen them with rounded bottoms as well (more arrowhead shaped), which I call non-traditional. There may only be one present on a face, or you may find layers and layers of them. Record Keepers will appear and disappear (I call that ‘popping’). A Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains and they help you access special wisdom and information specific to you. There are some that look like stacked skyscrapers, and recently I found an online image of sea cliffs in Iceland that are very similar to these sky-scraper-looking Sigils (Reynisfjara beach : South Iceland). Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. Unzipping is like opening a box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. Rezipping is like hanging up the phone. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. Remember after your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time. SELF-HEALED – Self-Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. A Self-Healed crystal looks like it has scales or triangular layers. Self-healing can be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-Healed points also present as crystals that were broken in half but sort of ‘glued’ back together with new growth. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine. They also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a Tabby with a large Imprint up one side, a small Side-Kick, Fairy Frost and sparkly Mirror Fractures. It feels REALLY good in your hand. Smooth, lovely!

TABBY or TABULAR – Tabular or Tabby crystals are thin, flat crystals. To ‘qualify’ as a Tabby, they should be no more than half as thin as they are wide (2 to 1 ratio). For example, if a crystal is one inch wide it needs to be one-half inch thick (or less) in order to be called a Tabby. If it is two inches wide it needs to be one inch thick (or less), etc. Tabby crystals are good helpers with communication. I remember this because they are shaped like a tablet. SIDE-KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side-kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Less defined than a Dolphin, a Sidekick doesn\’t really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a sidekick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Sidekick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a \’buddy energy\’ or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes \”top billing\” but where the Sidekick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

DESCRIPTION:

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is what I call a hugging Dolphin (the dolphin “baby” is stuck very close to the “mother”). It has Barnacles, Imprints, Dense with Fairy Frost with lots of Mirror Fractures and some Rainbows if you look for them. Lineated Sides. Protective, loving energy.

DOLPHIN – Dolphin crystals are crystals which have a smaller crystal attached to (riding along) the side, not quite big enough to be a Twin or Soulmate, but aligned similarly. They are sometimes called a baby. If you picture a dolphin with a baby swimming very near it, this is what the Dolphin crystal looks like (a larger crystal with a smaller crystal riding alongside). Metaphysically, Dolphin crystals have a fun, playful energetic energy (that of the baby) and they also have a nurturing, protective energy (that of the mother or adult). Imagine the energy to lovingly guide, teach and protect our young. This is the energy of a Dolphin Crystal. BARNACLES – Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Usually, these crystals emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). I usually find that these Old Soul crystals with Barnacles are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father or great grandmother/father would be (Imagine the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. I think of the description of a crystal with Barnacles not so much as a description of the Barnacles themselves, but of the energy of the crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles. RAINBOWS – Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a super water clear (Masculine) Dow with a Channeling orientation (one of the three 7-sided faces is larger than the other two). It has Record Keepers, Lineated Sides, and Imprints. It is Empathic with contact chips and dings. You can see them in the close-ups of the Record Keepers. The energy is bright and clear. It is a beautiful crystal with lovely energy even with the chips. Crystals that aren\’t \”perfect\” can help you to honor your own chips, dings, perceived flaws and imperfections. MASCULINE – Very clear points are described as Masculine. They are helpful when you need to get to the point. The energy they have is sharp and direct. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes. The term Masculine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being very clear and typically refers to the energetic qualities (masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.) Just like with humans, however, many Masculine crystals do have masculine energy (referring to gender), but some have feminine energy. This is especially true when a clear (Masculine) crystal has an Isis Face. Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal. DOW (also called TRANS-CHANNELER)- This is an example of a crystal with two names for the same configuration. Called both Dow (named after Janeann Dow) as well as Trans-Channeler (because these crystals are both Channelers and Transmitters in configuration), it is more commonly referred to as Dow. Dow crystals have three seven-sided faces with a triangular face between each of them. The sides of the six faces will look like 7-3-7-3-7-3. A perfect Dow or Trans-Channeler will have symmetrically-sized faces and a centrally located point. Some will be uneven in symmetry but the count will be correct. If the Transmitter configuration is more prominent (2 large 7\’s and one small 7), I call it a Dow with a Transmitter orientation. If one 7 is larger or more prominent than the other two 7\’s, I call it is Dow with a Channeler orientation. When the faces are symmetrical (textbook Dow), the Channeler and the Transmitter qualities are equally merged. Dow crystals provide a connection with the Self and Universal Truth. RECORD KEEPER – Record Keepers are crystals that have triangular markings on the faces. They seem to be three-dimensional, but they usually can’t be felt with your finger. You have to hold a crystal at just the right angle in order to see the Record Keeper. Usually they are very sharply edged, equilateral triangles; however, I have seen them with rounded bottoms as well (more arrowhead shaped), which I call non-traditional. There may only be one present on a face, or you may find layers and layers of them. Record Keepers will appear and disappear (I call that ‘popping’). A Record Keeper crystal will find its way to the person who needs the information it contains and they help you access special wisdom and information specific to you. LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point, to be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. When you have worked with your crystal and feel ready for more information (desire to go deeper), unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. Drag your thumbnail down the side of a point to ‘unzip’ and to zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective. They bring you up out of the muck, and give you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. There are some that look like stacked skyscrapers, and recently I found an online image of sea cliffs in Iceland that are very similar to these sky-scraper-looking Sigils (Reynisfjara beach : South Iceland). Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) This is a copper stand with removable crystal. It would make a great center crystal for a grid. Or for healing, because it is removable from the stand, you can easily work with the crystal and return it to the stand when you are finished with that session. My dad created the idea for these awesome stands to display a large point I had gifted him. I loved it! He taught me how to make them myself (these are made by me). SELF-HEALED – Self-Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. A Self-Healed crystal looks like it has scales or triangular layers. Self-healing can be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self-Healed points also present as crystals that were broken in half but sort of ‘glued’ back together with new growth. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine. They also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. SMOKY – Crystals become smoky when exposed to radiation. They may be natural or irradiated by man. Typically, natural Smoky crystals are usually a lighter grey/brown than crystals which have been artificially irradiated; these are usually almost black. It is possible to find very dark (almost black) natural Smoky quartz but usually it tends to be lighter in color. The only way to know for certain whether a point is naturally or artificially radiated is to ask the person where the point originated. Smoky crystal is a good grounding stone. It is also elevating to your mood because it grounds and picks up your negativity. If you use it for this purpose, be sure to cleanse your Smoky quartz frequently. DOLPHIN – Dolphin crystals are crystals which have a smaller crystal attached to (riding along) the side, not quite big enough to be a Twin or Soulmate, but aligned similarly. They are sometimes called a baby. If you picture a dolphin with a baby swimming very near it, this is what the Dolphin crystal looks like (a larger crystal with a smaller crystal riding alongside). Metaphysically, Dolphin crystals have a fun, playful energetic energy (that of the baby) and they also have a nurturing, protective energy (that of the mother or adult). Both names, Bridge and Inner Child, are used interchangeably. Inner Child crystals I see as much smaller and penetrating more ‘in’ than ‘out’ and they have a feeling to me of going ‘within’.
