This is a Yin/Yang Devic Temple (Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and Rainbows) Arkansas quartz crystal point. It is an Eight-Sided Face Grounding crystal, has a small Side Kick, a partial Bridge, a Key, Lineated Sides and Etching with Sigils.
YIN/YANG – Yin/Yang crystals are half feminine and half masculine. They present as half cloudy and half clear. The base of a Yin/Yang point may be completely milky or just very densely clouded with Fairy Frost (almost white) and the top part may be clear with a little wispy Fairy Frost. Knowing that Yin/Yang crystals have an equal measure of masculine to feminine energy, they are good for attaining and maintaining balance.
DEVIC TEMPLE – Crystals which have Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and Rainbows inside are called Devic Temples and are considered Master Crystals. Other sources have described them as \”having special places for Light Beings to reside\”. I feel all crystals have this ability/inclination so like to put this reminder here. The description implies that only Devic Temple crystals have this ability, but in reality, all crystals do. Devic Temples do have a special energy about them and usually have a lot of internal interest!
FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost crystals have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. Devic Temple crystals have a combination of Mirror Fractures, Rainbows and Fairy Frost. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost. Some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.
MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.
RAINBOWS – Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. Connect to the gift of love these crystals with Rainbows bring.
EIGHT-SIDED FACE GROUNDING – Eight-Sided Face crystals are also called Grounding crystals. They have eight edges on the main face. This is a fairly rare occurrence (and there are still only six sides on the body of these crystals). A stop sign also has eight sides; use this to remember that Eight-Sided Face or Grounding crystals help you to stop and ground. I like to put my thumb on the Eight-Sided Face (Grounding face) which is the largest face and work with it that way. You may also press and hold the grounding face to ground energy in any chakra. “Simply grounding” seems like a nominal role. However, none of our head dreams can be brought down and out through the material world, without first being grounded. If not for grounding, we would just be up in the air, floating around (metaphorically). We wouldn’t be doing the physical “work” that is required to manifest in material reality. So the grounding aspect is a very important one and isn\’t limited to the traditionally description of grounding.
SIDE KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side Kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Less defined than a Dolphin, a Side Kick doesn\’t really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a side kick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Side Kick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a \’buddy energy\’ or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes \”top billing\” but where the Side Kick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.
BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Bridge Crystals help to bridge between worlds. This may be the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others in the physical environment in which you now live. They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective, bring you up out of the muck, giving you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. Also called Inner Child.
KEY – Keys are indentations left by another crystal. Key crystals help you unlock answers to questions you may have. They help you to access anything which you previously were blocked from accessing before you found the key. Is there an area which you could use help in accessing an answer which has previously been blocked to you? The energy of a Key crystal can help you to find an easier, more direct way in. Imagine this as easily opening the lock on the front door and walking right in (rather than having to check all the windows for one that is unlocked, climbing through, scraping your elbows and knocking your head). Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. I like to put my finger in the Key as I work with the crystal. Meditate on the issue for which you need opening while holding the crystal in this way.
LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point. Lineated Sides can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. If you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information or feel a desire to go deeper, you can unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. I experience this as receiving a deeper knowing or understanding that seems to be released quietly after they are unzipped. If you drag your thumbnail down the side of a point with deep striations, you are ‘unzipping’ the crystal. To zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. This is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. I used to think that unzipping would be like opening a box and looking inside, revealing a few more items, and once you see them, that is all. It isn’t quite like this though. It is more like opening the box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion that has infinite layers. Just remember when you finish with your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.
ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to SIGILS).
SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.
