Drusy Quartz Crystal

Physical description: Very similar to Barnacles, Drusy (sometimes spelled Druzy) consist of very small points that are described as “a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals.” The Drusy clusters consist of tiny crystal points in their very formation, and are encrusted on either sandstone or quartz based matrices. The tiny crystals making up the Drusy look like sugar crystals. Your Drusy crystal may be on a point or a cluster, depending on availability.

Metaphysical description: I think of Drusy crystals as assisting with ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SIZE:

THE IMAGE SHOWN IS AN EXAMPLE OF A CRYSTAL WITH DRUSY. YOU WILL RECEIVE A SIMILAR CRYSTAL, BUT NOT THE CRYSTAL PICTURED.

*The size of these crystals will vary. I will send the most representative example of the type of configuration ordered, so if a crystal is small, but an excellent example of the particular configuration, I will send that crystal. If it is particularly small, I may send two in one bag (say 1/2 inch or so)… I aim for a size range from 1 to 2 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter.

Your crystal with Drusy will come with a business-card-sized printed description of the characteristics and special qualities of the crystal within. Crystal sizes may vary greatly in size as I am selecting for the shape, not the size.

I have packaged it with the description card to help you learn the identifying characteristics and uses of this special configuration.

This crystal is sent as a representative sample of a crystal with Drusy. It isn’t necessarily sent for its size, and sometimes may be Empathic (chipped, dinged or damaged), if it is an excellent representation of this type (for example, a very good Manifestation point in an Empathic chunk, or an excellent Record Keeper on a partial point).

DRUSY QUARTZ CRYSTAL Drusy quartz crystal is very similar to teeny  Barnacles. It presents as very small points that are described as ‘a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals’. 02312_S ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a very water clear (Masculine) asymmetrical Channeler crystal with a little bit of Fairy Frost. It has a couple of small Bridges and a Self-Healed base. There is a little clump of Drusy, Lineated Sides and some interesting surface features on the faces.

MASCULINE – Very clear points are described as Masculine. They may be optically clear, or they may have some Fairy Frost. The base of a Masculine crystal may be dense with frost, however if more of the point is clear than cloudy, it is described as Masculine. Masculine crystals are helpful when you need to get to the point; they have a sharp and direct energy. Yang in nature, Masculine crystals are more action-oriented and the energy projects rather than recedes. Typically, the term Masculine is referring to the physical characteristic of a crystal being very clear and without Fairy Frost, and doesn’t always refer to the energetic qualities. Just like with humans, many Masculine crystals do have masculine energy, but some have feminine energy. This is especially true when a clear (Masculine) crystal has an Isis Face. Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal. It is important to note I am talking about masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.

CHANNELER – In order to determine if your crystal is a Channeler or Channeling crystal, you must count the edges of the faces. If it is a Channeler, the main face will have seven edges. Directly behind that seven-sided face, there will be a three-sided face (triangle). This configuration is described as a seven-three. Channelers or Channeling crystals help you access higher wisdom, either in the form of your Higher Self or Spirit Guides, or of Angels. To me, these crystals exude a crisp, regal energy. Channeling or Channeler crystals can bring you love and light from beings in the higher realms.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost crystals have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. Devic Temple crystals have a combination of Mirror Fractures, Rainbows and Fairy Frost. Lots of crystals have Fairy Frost. Some are more fairy-like than others. Crystals with Fairy Frost are able to connect you with Nature Spirits and Fairies (Deva). They encourage us to connect with nature and to care for Mother Earth.

BRIDGE – A Bridge is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Bridge Crystals help to bridge between worlds. This may be the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others in the physical environment in which you now live. They are helpful in any area you might imagine needing a bridge. They can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self). They are also good for connection and perspective, bring you up out of the muck, giving you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. Also called Inner Child.

SELF HEALED – Self Healed crystals are crystals that have been broken from the matrix and started to re-seal their broken end with new growth. A Self Healed crystal looks like it has scales or triangular layers. Self-healing can be present on the bottom, sides or even tip of a point or cluster. Self Healed points also present as crystals that were broken in half but sort of ‘glued’ back together with new growth. Self-healed crystals are good for healing, as one might imagine. They also have optimistic, persistent energy. A crystal that has first healed its own wounding demonstrates how we are more able to help heal others when we first heal our own wounds. We can take this lesson to heart in our own healing practice.

DRUSY – Very similar to Barnacles, Drusy (sometimes spelled Druzy) consist of very small points that are described as ‘a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals. The Drusy clusters consist of tiny crystal points in their very formation, and are encrusted on either sandstone or quartz-based matrices. The tiny crystals making up the Drusy look like sugar crystals. Drusy may be seen on a point or on clusters. I think of Drusy crystals as assisting with ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

LINEATED SIDES – Lineated Sides are horizontal striations across the sides of a point. Lineated Sides can be used like a zipper to access further knowledge within the crystal. If you have worked with your crystal for a while and feel ready for more information or feel a desire to go deeper, you can unzip the crystal to receive the next layer of information. I experience this as receiving a deeper knowing or understanding that seems to be released quietly after they are unzipped. If you drag your thumbnail down the side of a point with deep striations, you are ‘unzipping’ the crystal. To zip it back up, drag your thumb from the base back to the tip. This is like hanging up the phone after a conversation. It lets the crystal know you are ‘done for now’ and you can pick up where you left off later. I used to think that unzipping would be like opening a box and looking inside, revealing a few more items, and once you see them, that is all. It isn’t quite like this though. It is more like opening the box, looking down inside and seeing that the bottom of the box opens to infinite space. There is no end to the amount of ‘extra’ you can receive as you work with and unzip your crystal. It is literally like peeling an onion that has infinite layers. Just remember when you finish with your session to thank the crystal for its help, and zip back up until next time.

Arkansas quartz crystal point, Devic Temple, Self-Healed, Mirror Fractures, Fairy Frost, Rainbows, Etching, Sigils, Inner Child, Drusy

02320_S ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is a Devic Temple, has a Self-Healed base, very interesting shapes inside with the Mirror Fractures and Fairy Frost. The Rainbows are very faint. There is a fissure at the base where the crystal sheared during growth (but remained together. There is Etching and Sigils, a small Inner Child point and a very light dusting of Drusy.

DEVIC TEMPLE – Crystals which have Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and Rainbows inside are called Devic Temples and are considered Master Crystals. Other sources have described them as \”having special places for Light Beings to reside\”. I feel all crystals have this ability/inclination so like to put this reminder here. The description implies that only Devic Temple crystals have this ability, but in reality, all crystals do. Devic Temples do have a special energy about them and usually have a lot of internal interest!

MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes), traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

RAINBOWS – Rainbows are present inside a crystal due to fractures. It is helpful to have very bright light, and you may have to turn the crystal (side-to-side, upside down, etc.) in order to see them. Rainbow crystals are optimistic and happy. They remind us that we are loved and they remind us to look for the gifts our traumas bring us. I think Rainbows are like secret hugs from the Crystal People. It is thrilling and warming. Connect to the gift of love these crystals with Rainbows bring.

ETCHED – Etched crystals have abrasions on the outer areas of the crystal that look like hieroglyphics or writing of some sort. To me, Etched crystals (or the etching on crystals) is symbolic in that it looks like writing or takes other shapes. (For example, in the case of Lightning Strike, it looks like a lightning bolt zigzagging across.) I feel that the best way to use these crystals depends on the particular shape the etching takes (refer to SIGILS).

SIGILS – Sigils are any markings that represent an idea. For example, a dollar sign is a sigil that represents money and abundance. Crystals may have markings that resemble things such as snake skin, mountain ranges, water or even cities. Sigils are surface features; you view them the same way you view a Record Keeper. Because a Sigil is a marking that reminds us of an idea or invokes a memory or feeling, the meaning will depend on what the sigil represents to you. When you see Sigils and images, a good thing to do is let your mind’s eye wander through them and see if they take on a life of their own (like a video in your mind’s eye). This is a form of scrying and a way to receive the messages that the crystal is bringing to you through the Sigils.

INNER CHILD (see also BRIDGE) – Inner Child (a type of Bridge) is a smaller crystal (or crystals) penetrating and located partially in and partially out of a larger crystal. Both names, Bridge and Inner Child, are used interchangeably. Inner Child crystals I see as much smaller and penetrating more ‘in’ than ‘out’ and they have a feeling to me of going ‘within’. Bridge or Inner Child crystals help to bridge between worlds. It may be the inner and outer worlds between your inner and outer Selves or between yourself and others in the physical environment in which you now live. Inner Child crystals can help you heal and get in touch with your inner child (bridging the gap between your outer self and your inner self).

I think of Drusy crystals as assisting with ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

02305_S ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This is a very water clear (Masculine) Arkansas quartz crystal point with a few contact dings (Empathic), Lineated Sides, a very light dusting of drusy and a couple of Barnacles.

Just as with humans, it is important not to make assumptions based on the physical characteristic of a crystal. It is important to note I am talking about masculine, referring to energy, not masculine, referring to gender.

EMPATHIC – Broken, chipped and otherwise damaged crystals are called Empathic. Empathic crystals bring out compassionate feelings in us. The crystal picks up this empathy and amplifies it. Often the lesson of Empathic crystals is to remember to be compassionate and empathetic to our OWN chips, dings and perceived flaws and to remember we are still beautiful, whole, lovable and worthy.

I think of Drusy crystals as assisting with ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

BARNACLES – Barnacles are smaller crystals that are attached to a larger crystal. Usually, these crystals emit a very Old Soul, ancient feeling. The larger crystal is the ‘Old Soul’ and contains the wisdom and trust that attracts the smaller crystals (babies or new souls). I usually find that these Old Soul crystals with Barnacles are helpful to us in the way that a loving human grandmother/father or great grandmother/father would be (Imagine the Oracle from the Matrix movies). They help us to see things from a wider, deeper, wiser perspective. I think of the description of a crystal with Barnacles not so much as a description of the Barnacles themselves, but of the energy of the crystal that attracts or grows Barnacles.

02292_S ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point is dense with Fairy Frost, has a ton of Barnacles and some Bridges/Inner child points. There is a Side-Kick, Lineated Sides, Drusy and Mirror Fractures. Definitely has old soul energy.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost is found inside a crystal (not like “frost on a pumpkin”). Fairy Frost is fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal. SIDE KICK – This is a name that I heard many years ago but never found in an actual book as a traditional description. However, the term fits so well, I have used it over the years but never used it as an actual name and definition (never included it in any lists). Visually, a Side Kick is a partial crystal almost melded with the main crystal. Less defined than a Dolphin, a Side Kick doesn\’t really have a whole shape on its own but relies on the main crystal to make up for most of its body. There is enough of a crystal there to warrant giving it a name. Like the traditional definition of a side kick (think Batman and Robin), a crystal Side Kick carries these energies: always being there to support the main crystal energetically, adds a component of assistance to the main crystal, has a \’buddy energy\’ or an energy of always being there for the other. A symbiotic relationship in which the main crystal takes \”top billing\” but where the Side Kick still plays a major role in the energy of the crystal.

Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

02257_S ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This is a water clear (Masculine) Arkansas quartz crystal point, Empathic with contact dings. It is Double Terminated. The bottom termination looks like it broke off during growth and Self-Healed with layers of triangles and some Drusy. There are Bridges and some Growth Interference.

DOUBLE TERMINATED – Double Terminated crystals have a termination on both ends. These crystals grow from a ‘seed’ molecule of silicon dioxide in clay and grow outward in both directions. They are not formed on a matrix. The energy in these crystals flows in both directions as well. Even though they have two terminations, oftentimes there is usually one end that feels like the ‘top’ and one that feels like the ‘bottom’. Double Terminated points promote psychic ability and dream recall (because they send as well as receive) and are also used for balance. They are useful in any application in which you want the energy to flow in both directions. Because the energy flows in both directions I like using them in healing layouts or grids.

They are also good for connection and perspective, bring you up out of the muck, giving you a birds-eye view of a situation. While providing connection, they also help provide boundaries. Also called Inner Child.

GROWTH INTERFERENCE – Growth Interference crystals have missing areas in the main point where another mineral was growing during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappeared. Lots of times it presents with a look like a buzz saw was taken to the crystal. Other times in deep square imprints. Because there used to be a mineral present that isn’t there anymore, they look and feel magical to me. Sometimes there is a little bit of mineral left in part of the crevasse. The properties of Growth Interference crystals are a bit like crystal imprints. They represent how we can adapt and grow around a certain situation (or person), and then if the situation no longer serves, it leaves, but not without leaving a mark. I see Imprints as more associated with situations regarding people (crystal on crystal) but because growth interference crystals is caused by non-crystal influences (other minerals), I see Growth Interference as referring more to non-human influences (such as environmental circumstances or health issues, etc.)

LINEATED FACE – Lineated Face crystals are crystals with surface markings viewed in the same way you find Record Keepers. Lineated face crystals may have markings which start as a small triangle that is outlined continually, oftentimes the pattern runs off the face of the crystal, sometimes it doesn’t. To picture this, just imagine the lines in a Zen garden. The innermost triangle may or may not be centrally located. Lineated Face crystals may be accessed during meditation in the same way that you might use a labyrinth. To work with Lineated Face crystals, follow the lines in and down to a meditative state and when you are finished, work your way back out from the center.

FAIRY FROST – Fairy Frost is found inside a crystal (not like “frost on a pumpkin”). Fairy Frost is fractures and inclusions of air within the crystal. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking. Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called Devic crystals. IMPRINT – Imprints are indentations or marks left on the sides or faces of a crystal where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. Crystals with Imprints represent how we are affected by outside influences (usually other people). The original structure adapts to its environment as outside influences (associations with people) change its shape or form. This allows for growth and change, while still maintaining the crystal’s basic inherent truth and beauty. An Imprint is a type of Key, so the characteristics of Key crystals applies as well.

MIRROR FRACTURES – Mirror Fractures are shiny mirror-looking areas within the crystal, caused by damage (shocks (sudden temperature changes) or traumas (hits, shaking, shearing Earth movement). Mirror Fractures serve as areas on which to reflect on our traumas and show that our traumas and challenges bring us added beauty and interest.

KEY – Keys are indentations left by another crystal. Key crystals help you unlock answers to questions you may have. They help you to access anything which you previously were blocked from accessing before you found the key. Is there an area which you could use help in accessing an answer which has previously been blocked to you? The energy of a Key crystal can help you to find an easier, more direct way in. Imagine this as easily opening the lock on the front door and walking right in (rather than having to check all the windows for one that is unlocked, climbing through, scraping your elbows and knocking your head). Ease of access is what Key crystal energy brings us. I like to put my finger in the Key as I work with the crystal. Meditate on the issue for which you need opening while holding the crystal in this way.

02185 ARKANSAS QUARTZ CRYSTAL POINT

This Arkansas quartz crystal point has a deep Key, creating a notch in the side of the body. It is water clear (Masculine) with Fairy frost and big shiny Mirror Fractures. A light dusting of Drusy and Lineated Sides. It would be a good crystal to wire wrap because of the ‘notch’, that would keep the wrapping in place. A centrally located point would make is a great pendulum as well.

Quartz Crystal Cluster 0000192

This two-sided all-quartz Arkansas quartz crystal cluster is sparkly with Drusy and small points. Has a little bit of Manganese.

CLUSTER – Clusters are points growing together on a matrix. Some Clusters grow on a sandstone matrix, others on all quartz, and still others may grow from a ‘seed’ of crystal (like a mass of double terminated points). Clusters are good for helping with group dynamics. Families, co-workers, anywhere a group of people might need help in getting along. They are also good for raising the vibrations in an environment and bringing light and energy into that space.

MINERAL STILL ATTACHED – Crystals with the mineral and rust still on (and clay in some cases) tell us to \”remember where you come from\”. It speaks to many levels and layers. Where we come from physically, what we\’ve been through, both emotionally and physically, where we come from in our past (this life) and where we come from ultimately (Spirit) etc. These crystals give us pause to reflect on our past and contemplate the residue of the experiences we have accumulated.

MANGANESE – Manganese is a dark black mineral often present on Arkansas crystal. A mineral of bonding, Manganese brings people closer together, activating the energies of cooperation in group efforts. Manganese stimulates spontaneity, creativity and enhances positive energy. Manganese produces a grounding effect which can help to balance the emotions and the physical body.
